Srinagar, March 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami while strongly condemning the ongoing state oppression on people has rejected the magisterial probe ordered by the authorities into the killing of Farhat Ahmad Dar and described it as a ridiculous joke.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, a Jamaat spokesman, advocate Zahid Ali demanded that killing of Farhat and hundreds of other such killings should be probed by an impartial judicial commission. The Jamaat called for immediate release of all detained pro-freedom leaders.
“It is a height of undemocratic attitude that people’s representatives are even barred from expressing their condolences and sympathies with oppressed people by detaining them illegally in police stations and detention centers,” the statement added.
The statement said that “the gun in unaccountable hands of forces in Kashmir is used to suppress the genuine voice of the people here who are demanding their inalienable right to self determination.”
