Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan organizing seminar on “Going Concern” on August 30, 2013

Karachi, August 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Southern Regional Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is organizing seminar on “Going Concern” to be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at ICAP House Karachi.

Mr. Abbas, FCA, Proprietor/Principal, Abbas and Co, Chartered Accountants and Mr. Shahid Hussain, Director, Quality Assurance Department, ICAP will be the speakers at the seminar.

It has been observed that public’s trust in the audit effectiveness is impaired where an unmodified auditor report precedes a company’s bankruptcy. The regulators around the world have continuously discussed this issue with the profession and worked to clarify auditors’ responsibilities and reporting requirements and it is generally felt that auditors face a dilemma in respect of going-concern reporting.

It is expected that Senior Partners and Proprietors of the leading CA firms would attend the workshop besides CEOs and CFOs of the national and multinational public and private companies.
