Karachi, March 28, 2016 (PPI-OT):IGP Sindh A. D. Khowaja today presided over a meeting at CPO and reviewed functioning/progress of completed/ongoing projects related to e-policing. The meeting was attended by DIG/T and T, DIG/Establishment, DIG/Finance, DIG/HQs, DIG/Training, AIGs of Security, Operations, Administration and Director IT Sindh Police.
AIG Security Maqsood Ahmad Memon proposed an ‘Operational Audit’ of Surveillance System to make the camera surveillance system more effective, viable and sustainable. The meeting’s participants acknowledged the proposal accordingly. Taking the decision, IGP constituted a 5-member committee for the ‘Operational Audit’ of Camera Surveillance System. The members of the committee include DIG/T and T, DIG/Finance, AIG Security, AIG Logistics and Director IT, CPO. The committee was further directed to submit the report within a fortnight.
The IGP Sindh was briefed about different components of e-policing project and its status and significance. The e-policing project has following components:
Police helpline ‘Madadgar 15’ with GIS vehicle tracking system.
Traffic Management System.
E-Driving Licence with Violation Management System.
Khowaja reviewed the functioning of all the components and decided to constitute a separate committee with DIG/Finance, DIG/HQs, AIG Security and Director IT for in-depth study/analysis to make e-policing a viable and more effective project.
IGP also invited details about the progress of Criminal Record Management System, Case Flow Management System and Human Resource Management System. He directed to accelerate the pace of work on these IT projects and complete them within the proposed time frame.
