Inspector General Police Sindh orders stopping police corruption

Karachi, May 08, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has issued directives to the officers and staff of police department that corruption and irregularities would not be tolerated at any cost. According to a press release from the Sindh Police Department, he made it clear that the policemen sponsoring crimes would not be spared.

The IGP also directed the police personnel not to accept any pressure and focus their attention on curbing crimes and professional duties be performed in accordance with the rules and regulations. A.D. Khawaja said that for enhancing the performance of the police department, it is necessary that a people-friendly atmosphere be fostered at every level. He also directed that administrative and financial matters in police be made transparent.

It was decided that there no place in the department for policemen who were shunted out for non registration of criminal cases or their involvement in crimes. Khawaja instructed to all DIGs to ensure security measures for the lives and properties of citizens. He further directed SSPs, SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to remain on roads and ensure random snap checking at all important points and beef up security at vital installations and all public places throughout the province. He instructed DIG Establishment that pending matters of promotions be disposed of in accordance with the rules and regulations.
