Islamabad, November 06, 2012 (PPI-OT): The commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances comprising of the former Senior Judge of Supreme Court M. Justice Javed Iqbal and Mr. Muhammad Sharif Virk, Member, is conducting proceedings of the cases of Enforced Disappearances regularly with the assistance of Law Enforcing Agencies for tracing out the Missing Persons. Proceedings of the Commission are being held at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta periodically.
On 1st Jan, 2011, 138 cases of Missing Persons were pending. During the period of 1st July, 2012, 758 new cases were received in the Commission: by enhancing the total numbers to that of 896 out of which 319 cases have been disposed off and current balance of the cases under investigation is 577.
During the month of October, 2012, the proceedings were held at Islamabad in which 15 Missing Persons have been traced out. The names/parentage of these Missing Persons are Rasheed Ahmed s/o Karim Jaan, Sahib Zada, Rasool Niaz Khan s/o Meer Sahib Khan, said Muhammad Khan umar Baig s/o Shah Wali, Hafiz Muhammad Zakria s/o Khushi Muhammad, Faryad Hussain s/o Mian Zamir, Gul Zar Jaan s/o Khyal Jaan, Muhammad Gul s/o Naseeb Gul, Khalid Muhammad S/o Peer Muhammad, Muhammad Tariq s/o Khadim Hussain, Muhammad Yaqoob Khan S/o Abdul Ghani, Abdul Aziz s/o Muhammad Ali, Sajid Husssain s/o Muhammad Mustafa, Majid Husssain s/o Muhammad Mustafa and Hafiz Abid Hussain S/o Muhammad Mustafa.
The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances is committed and determined to make all out efforts to trace the Missing Persons.
