Islamabad, January 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): A 6-member Indonesian delegation representing leading private and state media of the country arrived here Monday on a week-long visit with the prime objective of obtaining first-hand knowledge about the land, people, culture and political developments in Pakistan, says a press release received from Jakarta here today.
The delegation is scheduled to meet Pakistani leadership as well as senior officials and representatives of the civil society to foster positive image of Pakistan.
Members of the delegation on arrival said they aspired to look beyond the sensational news reports which did not reflect the true colour of Pakistan. They intend to explore the economic resilience, thriving democracy and vibrant culture of Pakistan.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Indonesia, Sanaullah in a briefing prior to their departure said it was a great opportunity for them to visit Pakistan at this stage as for the first time in the history of Pakistan, the democratic government through its policy of reconciliation is completing its five years tenure. There is also a sense of transparency in the entire democratic process.
The Ambassador also highlighted the existing friendly relations between the two countries and Pakistan’s firm resolve and commitment to expand relations with ASEAN member countries.
