Kolkata, March 08, 2016 (PPI-OT):India, which is already catching headlines in international media for rising incidents of rape against women, recently witnessed another such story when a woman in West Bengal had to jump off a three-storey building to escape a rape bid. The 20-year-old woman survived but had to be hospitalised for her head injuries in the incident that occurred on Sunday night. The young woman was taken into a house on a celebration pretext and she was administered a spiked drink there, police said.
“As she started feeling drowsy the three men tried to force themselves on her. She jumped off the balcony from the second floor building to save herself,” the police said. “The condition of the woman is stable and she is out of danger,” the officer added.
