Srinagar, June 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three civilian youth in Shopian district, today. The youth were killed in firing by the Indian troops on their vehicle in Moolu Chitragam area of the district.
Two of the three martyrs were identified as Firdous Ahmad Butt and Sajjad Ahmad and they were residents of Kulgam. The killing triggered anti-India protests in South Kashmir. Many people were injured after Indian police and paramilitary forces fired pellets and teargas shells on protesters in different areas of Shopian and Islamabad districts.
Clashes erupted between the protesters and the Indian forces during a cordon and search operation in Tarigam area of Kulgam district. The troops also launched a search operation in Tral area of Pulwama district. A youth, Mehran Ahmed Banday, who was injured after being hit by pellets in his head in September, last year, succumbed in Srinagar. Indian Border Security Force killed an unarmed person at Bhag Nallah in Pargwal-Khour area of Jammu region.
Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi along with delegations, today, visited the residences of martyrs Moulvi Aasif Ahamd and Naseer Ahmad War in Sopore. Asif and Naseer were martyred by the troops in Dangar Pora area of Sopore on Thursday.
Reports from Islamabad town said that Indian occupational forces used brutal force and indiscriminately fired teargas shells on Muslim worshippers even on lailatul Qadr at dozens of Islamabad town’s mosques including the mosques in Hanfia Reshi Bazaar, Sherbagh, Mattan Chowk, Kadipora, Rahat Didi and Dnagerpora. People from all walks of life including All Traders and Manufacturers Association, South Kashmir Civil Society, Bar Association Islamabad and members of Auqaf committees at a joint meeting condemned the Indian police action.
Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Zafar Akbar Butt and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their separate statements demanded the release of all political prisoners before Eidul Fitr.
