Indian forces given license to kill in IOK: Shabbir Shah

Srinagar, August 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that the way people of Jammu and Kashmir reacted to the Indian Independence Day on August 15 is an eye-opener for India and its stooges in the territory.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar termed it a joke on part of India to observe the day after turning the whole territory into a military garrison.

“How can it be called Independence Day when bullets are pumped into the chests of civilians and people caged inside their homes? Stooges of Indian government in Kashmir should bear in mind that the people of Kashmir have never been interested in India’s Independence Day,” he said. Every subjugated nation considered it treason with the blood of martyrs to be part of the celebrations of the colonial power, he said.

Rejecting Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s remarks on Kashmir, Shabbir Shah challenged him to hold plebiscite to know the verdict of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Denouncing the killing of teenager, Muhammad Yasir Sheikh of Batamaloo, the APHC leader said, “What was the crime of this innocent boy? Was it done to appease the masters in Delhi?”

Shabbir Shah said, “The martyrdom of over 80 civilians clearly nullifies the puppet Chief Minister’s claims that present uprising is supported by a handful of people.”

He termed the killing of four people in Beerwah area of Badgam and a youth at Larkipora in Islamabad by occupational forces as a blot on the face of Indian democracy.

“Despite unabated killings, the regime doesn’t feel a bit remorseful but has given a free license to the forces to kill and unleash a reign of terror,” he deplored.
