Srinagar, April 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir in (HCBA) has strongly condemned the destruction of civilian property by Indian troops during a siege and search operation in Srinagar.

The Bar Association in an extraordinary meeting presided over by its Vice President, Aijaz Bedar, expressed deep concern over the blasting of houses of a lady Advocate Miss Asma Rangrez and Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Dar by Indian forces at Ahmad Nagar in Srinagar. It observed that the forces in the name of anti-militancy operations were deliberately and intentionally damaging and destroying the civilian property to harass the common man and perpetuate psychological warfare in the occupied territory.

It appealed to the world human rights organizations including the United Nations High Commission on Human Rights, Amnesty International and Asia Watch to intervene and impress upon India to stop its policy of death and destruction in occupied Kashmir.

The HCBA said that the people of Kashmir were determined to continue the ongoing freedom struggle till it reached its logical conclusion, despite India’s military violence.

Later, the HCBA delegation consisting of Aijaz Ahmad, Anwar-ul-Islam Shaheen, Bilal Ahmad Wani and Shabir Ahmad Butt visited Ahmad Nagar and expressed solidarity with the families whose houses were damaged by Indian troops during the operation.
