Indian BSF trooper commits suicide in IOK

Srinagar, April 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian trooper has committed suicide in Poonch district. The trooper of Border Security Force’s 100th Battalion while on duty ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle in Mandi belt in Poonch. This incident raised the number of such deaths among Indian troops and police personnel to 311 since January 2007.

On the other hand, unidentified gunmen shot at and critically injured a former health officer, Dr Ghulam Qadir Sofi, at his clinic in Pulwama. “He sustained serious bullet injuries and was immediately rushed to Bone and Joint hospital Barazulla in Srinagar for specialized treatment,” eyewitness said. Meanwhile, local police arrested an Indian Territorial Army man for allegedly molesting a girl at Madhama Zirhama in Kupwara.
