Srinagar, April 02, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian authorities have placed the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other senior Hurriyet leaders under house arrest to prevent them from visiting the residence of Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru at Doabgah in Sopore.
The other Hurriyet leaders including Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moovi Alsafvi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Zafar Akbar Butt, Masroor Abbas and Syed Saleem Gilani were also detained in their houses.
APHC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was arrested and lodged at Police Station Sherbagh in Islamabad.
On the other hand, Director General Police, Ashok Prasad talking to media men in Srinagar said that the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and others would be released only after the normalcy returned to Valley. “We would be considering release of Gilani, Malik and others when we are satisfied that normalcy has returned to Valley completely,” what DGP claimed.
Meanwhile, senior Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehria, Nayeem Khan, Showket Ahmad Bakshi, Fehmeeda Sofi, Rafiq Ahmad Gani, Shabbir Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Aiyaz Akbar, Javeed Ahmad Butt and dozens of other activists were detained in Srinagar Central Jail and Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu.
