Indian Army resorts to aerial firing in Pulwama

Srinagar, February 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, panic gripped Naira Tahab area of Pulwama district after Indian Army resorted to aerial firing during a siege and search operation.

People took to the streets in the area when the Army started a search operation. The Army opened firing in air to scare away the protesters. The firing triggered panic in the area and people ran for shelter. A police official said that the Army resorted to aerial firing as police was not equipped with tear smoke shells.
