Indian army officer mysteriously killed in Kupwara

Srinagar, May 01, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, an officer of Indian Army was killed under mysterious conditions at Langate area of Handwara in Kupwara district.

JCO, Jai Prakash Singh of 30 Rashtriya Rifles posted at Langate army camp, received a serious bullet wound in his head while performing his duties.

After hearing gunshot his colleague rushed towards him where he was found lying in a pool of blood and took him to nearby medical room for treatment, media reports said.

The 55-year-old was later airlifted to army’s 92 base hospital for specialized treatment.

The officer, a resident of Shivpur village in shambahaganj area of Gorakhpur district of UP later succumbed to injuries.

A defence ministry spokesperson said that the officer died due to accidental fire, but declined to dwell upon the nature of “accidental fire.
