‘Indian Army illegally occupies 175 acres in Gulmarg’

Srinagar, February 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet administration has said that Indian Army is illegally occupying around 175 acres of land in close vicinity of famous tourist resort Gulmarg.

In a written reply to the question in the so-called Kashmir Assembly, the puppet Minister in-charge Home informed the House that the Army had illegally occupied 175.64 acres of land in Gulmarg and Botapathra area.

It said that in Gulmarg and Botapathra area the land measuring 305.64 acres was in the occupation of Army, out of which 130 acres had been transferred to Indian Defense Ministry by Tourism Department of the occupied territory in 1991 while around 175.64 acres of land were under illegal possession of the Army.

The reply added that the puppet administration had constituted a high level committee on February 3, this year, to work out the modalities for transfer of 175.64 acres of land, which is under illegal occupation of Army at Gulmarg, in lieu of the land to be exchanged for Tattoo Ground in Batamaloo area of Srinagar.
