Srinagar, September 02, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Independent member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed has said that India is using its army to divert Kashmiris’ attentions from the long-standing Kashmir issue through the launch of cultural aggression in the territory.
Speaking at a two-day Kashmir Conference organised by Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK), Engineer Rasheed urged the National Conference, which is heading the regime, to take a serious note of the activities being carried out by the Indian army in the territory.
“Army has crossed every limit in Kashmir. When you visit our boarder districts, you will find some beautiful places and mountains named after some army officials, who are they, who has given them the right to name and rename the places that belong to us,” he told participants at the conference.
“Being a Kashmiri or having a Kashmiri tag in India can prove deadly. It’s because of being a Kashmiri that Afzal Guru was secretively executed. It’s because of being a Kashmiri that an octogenarian leader like Gilani sahib continues to remain under house detention. India can go to any extent in muzzling our voices,” he added.
He urged the regime to have an inspection of all the so-called Army Goodwill schools to check whether they teach Kashmir language to the students.
