London, April 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of International Chamber for Peace and Conciliation, Kashmir Concern (ICPC-KC), Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl has denounced the arrests of pro-freedom political leadership by the authorities in occupied Kashmir.
Professor Shawl in a statement in London said the continued detention of the leaders amounts to depriving them of their basic right of expression and squeezing their political space in an undemocratic manner.
“This policy speaks volumes about the so-called largest Democracy,” he said and urged the international community to take cognizance of this immoral administrative behaviour in occupied Kashmir.
He termed it a pre-meditated plan to keep the leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Masarrat Aalam Butt in continued detention. “It is a matter of great concern and needs universal condemnation,” he added.
