India planning to settle ‘Amarnath Nagar’ in IHK: Gilani

Srinagar, June 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India is planning to set up a town for non-Kashmiris in the name of Amarnath Nagar in and around Amarnath Cave in a bid to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir.

Syed Ali Gilani in a media interview in Srinagar said, “As for my reports Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) in league with Indian government is busy in constructing huts and buildings at different places en route to Amarnath Cave.” “It is a serious matter,” which he said, would not be tolerated.

“India in a bid to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir is pushing non-state subjects into Jammu and issuing Permanent Resident Certificates in their favour,” he said.

It is alarming that the population of Jammu has been shown more than that of Srinagar, he added. “India with the help of its paid-agents in Kashmir has succeeded in changing the demographic nature of the territory and feared that if the practice went on unchecked the Kashmiris would certainly lose their identity one day,” he warned. He cautioned that in a planned manner the Kashmiri people were being subjugated in one way or the other.

“If you will compare the population ratio of Kashmir with Jammu then you will easily understand what India has achieved since 1947. We are losing our identity. Kashmiryat is almost over. By destroying our social order India is achieving its goal and we are losing the ground,” he said.

India has already pushed thousands of people from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and other Indian states into Jammu and these have been granted PRCs and now they are intending to settle these outsiders in Kashmir as well, he went on.

The veteran leader said that India had resorted to cultural aggression and was hell -bent to demoralize the fabric of social order. “They are encouraging the drug addition, waywardness and immoral activities among the youth,” he said.
