Srinagar, April 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has said that Indian police has not produced its illegally detained Vice Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, before a court in connection with a false case registered against him.
The JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was to be presented before the Fourth Additional Judge in Srinagar on Saturday for hearing in an old case, but the police did not present him before the court.
He said that the court fixed April 28 as the next hearing date. He also expressed serious concern over the falling health of Masarrat Aalam in jail.
The spokesman also strongly condemned the illegal detention of party’s General Secretary, Abdul Ahad Parra, and other Hurriyet leaders and activists including Ghulam Ahmad Khan Sopori, Assadullah Parray, Meraj-ud-Din Nanda, Muhammad Maqbool Kondu and Abdur Rasheed Butt.
