Srinagar, June 19, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Muslim Democratic League has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of party President and Hurriyet leader, Hakim Abdul Rasheed at Srinagar Central Jail.
The Muslim Democratic League spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said besides his unjustified arrest the authorities didn’t present him before a local court for hearing. The spokesman, while demanding immediate release of ailing leader, Hakim Abdul Rasheed said, on humanitarian grounds political prisoners are being released in many parts of the world in view of the sacred month Ramazan, but in Kashmir the authorities have waged a war against the Kashmiris.
The spokesman also condemned the use of excessive force on innocent people and nocturnal raids of youths in Srinagar.
