IHK court asks authorities to present witness in Laya case

Srinagar, January 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a TADA court in Srinagar has directed the authorities to present witnesses by February 18, 2013, in the case pending against Tehreek-e-Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Ashraf Laya and Muhammad Maqbool Dar of Rawalpora, Srinagar. A spokesman for the Tehreek in a statement in Srinagar said that the authorities had failed to present any witness in the case.

“Due to severe physical torture in 1994 Muhammad Ashraf Laya lost his vision in one eye and now the doctors have advised surgery to save his other eye,” the spokesman added. Meanwhile, the forum patronized by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has reiterated its demand for impartial probe into the Pulwama firing by some neutral agency.
