IHK Bar reiterates pledge to continue peaceful struggle

Srinagar, October 18, 2012 (PPI-OT):  The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir has reiterated the pledge to continue its peaceful struggle for securing right to self-determination of Kashmiris.

 

The Bar President, Zafar Ameen Qureshi, while addressing the Bar members at the High Court premises in Srinagar, paid tributes to Abdul Qadir Sailani Advocate on his martydom anniversary.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mian Abdul Qayoom, Syed Manzoor, Mohammad Amin Ahanger, Arshid Andrabi, G.N. Shaheen, Nazir Ahmad Ronga, Mohammad Shafi Reshi, Nazir Ahmad Tabassum and Mohammad Ashraf Butt General Secretary Bar Association highlighted his contribution for the Kashmir cause.

 

The speakers said that 1,000,000 Indian troops and other invisible agencies had occupied their land and made them slaves, adding that the Bar should help the leaders in fighting for achieving right to self-determination.

 

Daughter of the deceased, Rafia Sailani who was also present on the occasion, said that her father fought for the cause of common people and always felt their pain.

 

Meanwhile, a team of High Court Bar Association, which recently visited Central Jail, Udhampur, and other jails in Jammu region, said that jail authorities had ill-treated the senior liberation leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam in the jail.

 

The team, comprising Aijaz Bedar, Vice President, Muhammad Ashraf Butt, General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad Butt, Joint Secretary, Arshid Andrabi, member, and Rafiq Ahmad Joo, on the court permission met the intimates including Masarat Alam Butt and Mushtaq-ul-Islam in presence of the jail Superintendent Dr Vinod Kumar,” the Bar spokesman said in a statement.
