Karachi, April 17, 2015 (PPI-OT): ICAP members have a huge role in economic development of Pakistan. This was stated by Mr. Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman Finance Minister Government of Punjab who was the Chief Guest at CA gold medal and certificate distribution ceremony. Keeping alive the tradition of honouring its most illustrious and bright students, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) held the Gold Medal and Certificate Distribution Ceremony at a local hotel in Lahore. It was organized by Northern Regional Committee of ICAP.
ICAP is one of the leading institutes of the country and is known for its formative work in the profession of accounting and auditing. ICAP acknowledged the outstanding performance of students and honoured them with Gold Medals and Certificates on their successful completion of CA qualification.
A large number of jubilant students, their proud parents, ICAP council members, Northern Regional Committee members, ICAP past presidents and head of RAETS attended the ceremony.
While addressing the students at ceremony, President of ICAP, Mr. Yaqoob Suttar congratulated the students and their parents on their splendid success. He said that this qualification is only the first milestone of a very long journey that lies ahead of them. He added that credibility of ICAP and its members had been increasing worldwide due to high professionalism and quality work. He also expressed pride that students had strived very hard to acquire knowledge and skills par excellence with international standards in chartered accountancy profession.
Other senior professionals including Mr. Mohammad Maqbool, Vice president North ICAP , Mr Aftab Mahmood Butt CEO KAPCO (key note speaker) and Mr. Saifullah, FCA Chairman Northern Regional Committee ICAP addressed the gathering. Some outstanding students also spoke about their achievements. Master of ceremony was Asad Feroze, FCA Honorary Secretary NRC ICAP and Maira Sajjad, ACA.
The high achievers who received certificates at the ceremony had demonstrated their potential to be the future leaders of the accountancy profession as they were equipped with in depth knowledge and skills underpinned by strong values of professionalism and ethics.
More than 200 students were awarded certificates and towards the end, ceremony was followed by group photo of the graduates and dinner organized in honour of guests and graduates. Ceremony was attended by eminent chartered accountants of the country.
