IAS topper from IOK resigns in protest against killings

Srinagar, January 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a Kashmiri youth from Kupwara, Shah Faisal, who topped Indian Administrative Service examinations 2009, resigned from his job, today, to protest against the unabated killings by the Indian forces in Kashmir. The marginalization and invisiblization of around 200 million Indian Muslims at the hands of Hindutva forces reducing them to second-class citizens has also played a role in his decision to quit the services.

The IAS topper took to his Facebook account and wrote, “Insidious attacks on the special identity of the J and K and growing culture of intolerance and hate in India in the name of hyper nationalism, I have decided to resign from Indian Administrative Service.” He wrote, “I wish to remind the regime of the day that subversion of public institutions like RBI, CBI and NIA has the potential to decimate the Constitutional edifice of this Country and it needs to be stopped.”
