Hurriyet leaders flay IOK regime for curbs in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 28, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the puppet authorities for imposing curbs in Srinagar to prevent people from offering funeral prayers in absentia of noted Kashmiri liberation leader, Amanullah Khan, describing it as the worst kind of state terrorism.

The authorities had imposed curfew and other restrictions in the city on Wednesday to stop people from holding funeral prayers of the deceased leader.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar said that banning funeral of Amanullah Khan showed that Kashmir was practically under martial law. “The action is also a direct interference in our religious affairs and it will not be tolerated in any ways,” he added.

The Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said that the curbs on funeral prayers of Amanullah Khan demonstrated the extremist mindset of the occupation authorities.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in his statement termed imposition of curbs as a glaring example of shortsightedness, low mentality, moral degradation and frustration of the authorities.

Hurriyet leaders, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo and Farooq Ahmad Dar in their statements said that such tactics on part of puppet regime amply depicted its frustration.

Meanwhile, Dal Khalsa, the Amritsar-based representative organisation of Sikhs, in its statement expressed grief over the demise of Amanullah Khan.
