Srinagar, August 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Yasmeen Raja and Zafar Akbar Butt, have congratulated the people and the government of Pakistan on their Independence Day, today.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah telephonically addressing various functions in different cities of Pakistan said that the Kashmiri people were grateful to Pakistani people and their government for extending continued moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause.
On the arrest of innocent people after the recent communal clashes in Kishtwar, Shabbir Shah, deplored that the puppet administration was arresting innocent people to cover up the hooliganism of communal elements.
He said that the communal elements had always tried to create a gulf between Kashmir and Jammu region through their conspiracies, but the people of two regions had frustrated their nefarious designs.
He also expressed concern over the highhandedness of Indian police and troops in the Kashmir Valley particularly the arrest of innocent people in Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad, Kulgam, Sopore and Baramulla areas. He warned the puppet administration of serious consequences of these illegal detentions.
APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, presided over a function at her party office in Srinagar in connection with the Pakistan’s Independence Day. Addressing on the occasion, she said that Pakistan, which came into being after the unparalleled sacrifices of the Muslims of subcontinent, was the centre of hopes for the whole Muslim Ummah. She hailed the Pakistani people and government for continuously supporting the Kashmir cause at the world level.
Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement greeted the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day. He said that Pakistan had always provided political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ indigenous movement.
He said that India had no moral justification to celebrate its Independence Day in Jammu and Kashmir as it had illegal occupied the territory. He castigated the Indian forces and puppet authorities for lashing a reign of terror in the territory ahead of India’s Independence Day.
Zafar Butt also welcomed the recent statement of the UN General Sectary, Ban-ki-Moon, on Kashmir and urged him to help settle the Kashmir dispute by implementing the relevant UN resolutions.
On the other hand, APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan termed the August 15, the Indian Independence Day, as a black day for Kashmiris. He said that India had no moral ground to hold its independence day functions in Kashmir because it had never been its part. He called for protests on August 16, after Friday prayers, against the atrocities on the Muslims of Jammu. He also paid glowing tributes to martyred senior APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
Another APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement Mohammad Shareef Sartaj in a statement also felicitated the Pakistanis on their Independence Day.
