Islamabad, November 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar will leave for Djibouti on November 14, 2012 to attend 39th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting will review decisions taken at earlier meetings as well as the Fourth Extraordinary Summit held recently in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
The session will provide an opportunity for Pakistan and the Muslim world to reaffirm their solidarity with the people of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir in the exercise of their right to self determination.
Foreign Minister will also address a meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir. On the sidelines, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral meetings with the participating Foreign Ministers and discuss issues of bilateral and mutual concern to the Muslim Ummah.
In her statement and other interactions during the Conference, the Foreign Minister will stress the need for solidarity among countries of Muslim Ummah at a time when the Muslim World is facing serious challenges.
She will emphasize the need to develop synergies between OIC countries to expand economic and scientific cooperation. She will also reiterate the importance of respect for all religions and inter-faith harmony.
