Hilal War pays rich tributes to Gaw Kadal martyrs

Srinagar, January 08, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leader and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Political Party Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War has paid rich tributes to the Gaw Kadal martyrs. Engineer Hilal Ahmad War in a statement issued in Srinagar said that it was the first massacre in Kashmir in which more than 50 innocent and unarmed civilians were martyred and over 250 sustained bullet injuries when Indian troops fired on peaceful protesters on January 21, 1990. Engineer Hilal Ahmad War said that the Gaw Kadal massacre was a well-thought out plan of the Home Ministry which was aimed at paving way for exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley.

He said that the conspiracy of Kashmiri Pandits’ exodus was hatched by the then Governor of Kashmir, Jagmohan Malhotra, in connivance with the Indian Home Ministry. He urged the international human rights organizations to set up an international independent tribunal to probe the Gaw Kadal massacre so that the conspirators and perpetrators of the heinous crime could be unmasked and punished.

Engineer Hilal Ahmad War called for a shutdown in entire Civil Lines area of Srinagar including Gaw Kadal, Maisuma, Lal Chowk, Budshah Chowk, Court Road, Ghoni Khan, Sarai Bala, Red Cross Road, Aabi Guzar, Polo View and Residency Road on January 21 to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Gaw Kadal martyrs.
