Higher education very much needed in Pakistan

Karachi: The higher education is very much needed in the country, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan on Saturday, he made the remarks during a visit to Nazeer Hussain University here along with Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Dr Ebad further said that the setting up of Nazeer Hussain University was a welcome step.

He felicitated the chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain, on the establishment of the institution.

The Governor said that an important aspect of this university was that it had been set up on self-help basis and was equipped with all the facilities to impart higher education.

He stated that the government would provide every possible resources to the university.

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on the occasion that setting up of this university augured well. He said that the government of Sindh would provide funding to this institution.

Provincial Minister Abdul Rauf Siddiqui said that the process of teaching at Nazeer Hussain University will begin from January 1, 2013.

He further stated that initially there will be teaching in three faculties.

Sindh ministers Agha Siraj Durrani and Dr. Sagheer Ahmed and industrialists Aqeel Karim Dedi, Siraj Kasim Teli, Yasin Malik were also present on the occasion besides Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui and Khalid Tawab.
