Lahore: In order to make the 100 model police stations as functional a high level meeting was held at Central Police Office, Lahore today under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mohammad Habib-ur-Rehman.
Addl; IG Punjab, Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan, Addl: IG, Welfare and Finance, Sarmad Saeed, Addl: IG R and D Anwer Virk, DIG, R and D Farooq Amin Hashim, AIG, R and D Suleman Chaudhary, AIG Development Shafique Ahmed, AIG Welfare Ahmad Kamal and AIG Finance Saad Akhter Bharwana attended this meeting.
Provincial Police Chief stressed upon the officers to play their active role in making the police a real guard of people, to change traditional thana culture and to strengthen the trust and confidence between the public and the police.
In the meeting infrastructure, technology, resources, provision of latest facilities and purchase of CCTV Cameras, Computers, Latest Mobile Phones, Operational Vehicles, Motorcycles and Vehicle Trackers for these model police stations what discussed in detail.
On this occasion IGP appointed Anwer Virk, DIG R and D as coordinator for the project of model police stations. It may be recalled that in Lahore 20, Sheikhupura 04, Sahiwal 04, Sargodha 05, Bahawalpur 03, D.G. Khan 04, Rawalpindi 15, Faisalabad 15, Gujranwala 15 and in Multan 15 Model Police Stations will be setup.
