Islamabad: The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Singapore, Syed Hasan Javed called on Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Teo Chee Hean and Foreign Minister of Singapore H.E. Mr. K. Shanmugam, on Tuesday 20.12.2011, says a press release received here today from Singapore.
During his call on the Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, the High Commissioner expressed his keen desire to promote cooperation with Singapore. He highlighted trade and economic opportunities for investment in Pakistan for Singaporean companies. Mr. Javed recalled the contribution of Pakistani professionals in development of Singapore and offered Pakistani expertise in Medicine, IT, Finance and Engineering. He emphasized that Pakistan could be a potential market for diversification of investment by Singapore due to current global financial situation. For Multinationals, Pakistan provides a destination of long term profit sustainability, Mr. Javed added.
Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Teo Chee Hean, expressed his full support to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation. He appreciated High Commissioner’s efforts in this respect. The Deputy Prime Minister re-affirmed that cordial relations between the two countries will flourish in the years ahead.
Foreign Minister Mr. K. Shanmugam, welcomed High Commissioner in his office and expressed his full confidence in him. He said that cordial relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in years ahead. The Foreign Minister reaffirmed the warm and longstanding relations between Singapore and Pakistan. He also shared his ideas to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He liked to continue to work closely with Pakistan at bilateral level and also at multilateral fora.
