Heavy snowfall disrupts life in IOK

Srinagar, March 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a fresh spell of snowfall has disrupted the normal life throughout the valley.

Heavy snowfall lashed Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir for many hours, today. Snowing while putting the normal life to a halt in the Valley while Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed, today. “Rain and snow are likely to occur across Jammu and Kashmir during the next 12 hours with possibility of heavy rain and snow at isolated places,” an official of the local Met department told media men.

The authorities ordered the suspension of all classes upto 5th standard in schools across the Valley because of snowfall. There has been over one and half feet snowfall during the night at the ski resort of Gulmarg and Pahalgam in the Valley. Meanwhile, three people including Sameena, 17, were killed by landslides in Poonch and Pulwama districts.
