Islamabad, August 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):Launching ceremony of Prime Minister’s National Health Program (PMNHP) in District Kotli, AJK was held today in Kotli in line with the vision of Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan for universal health coverage. Minister for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar launched the “Prime Minister’s National Health Program” in District Kotli.
Speaking on the occasion Minister said Work alone and not hollow slogan changes people lives. Prime Minister’s National Health Program will provide Quality free healthcare services for the poorest of the poor in the Kotli district of Azad Kashmir; she said. She said we believe in taking concert measure to emulate the sufferings of the poor segment of the society and do not relay on slogan.
She said our politics is the politics of the performance and delivery to the masses. She said health insurance was a key aspect of the PML (N) manifesto in 2013 election campaign and today Allah Almighty has granted us success in implementing this revolution program.
Minister Said, This is the second district in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, after district Muzaffarabad, where the program has been launched to provide free indoor health care services for secondary and 7 priority diseases to the poor families of the district. With this program more than 79,000 poor families of the district will be provided with cashless service for indoor treatments through network of empanelled hospitals throughout Pakistan.
At this occasion Minister of State congratulated the poor and marginalized population of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for another step toward their prosperity by the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N). She also assured that the program will also be started soon in all districts of AJK and Pakistan.
Minister said, that through this scheme more than 170,000 families have been enrolled and given health card while more than 4000 beneficiaries have so far been treated in programs empanelled hospitals. She said, Overall the program will be launched in 23 districts of Pakistan and will be providing services to 3.2 million families who are living below poverty.
