HCBA team visiting jails to legally assist Kashmiri detainees

Srinagar, January 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): A 16-member team of the High Court Bar Association in occupied Kashmir is visiting different jails in and outside the territory to provide necessary legal aid to the illegally detained Kashmiris.

A spokesman for the HCBA said in a statement, “The aim of the visit is to provide necessary legal assistance to the detainees and under-trial prisoners of Kashmir lodged in these jails.”

“The permission for visiting the jails was sought by the Bar Association on December 28, 2012 from the High Court,” the statement added.

Led by HCBA President, advocate Z A Qureshi, the team comprises former HCBA President advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom, Vice President Aijaz Bedar, General Secretary Muhammad Ashraf Butt and others.
