HCBA condemns use of force against Tarigam residents

Srinagar, February 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association has condemned the use of brute force against the residents of Tarigam area of Kulgam during a cordon and search operation by Indian troops. An HCBA spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the troops set ablaze two electricity transformers and a bike and fired pellets, which injured eight people seriously. The injured were rushed to hospitals for emergency treatment.

The HCBA also commended the holding of a global conference on Kashmir in London in which besides Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the members of UK Parliament spoke and impressed upon the world community to take notice of the worst kind of human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. The spokesman said that the Bar Association also praised the steadfastness of Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who completed 26 years of incarceration on 5th of February, 2019.
