Karachi, March 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): PIA has enforced Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 to address complaints as per law and all complaints if any, are dealt with seriously. PIA Spokesman said here on Thursday.
On March 7, 2013 PIA representatives were in the Supreme Court with regard to the sou moto Case 09/2012. She has moved an application before the Honourable Court raising several allegations. The Honorable Court has issued notice on contents of this application to the Managing Director PIA. The contents shall be examined and Honorable Court will be assisted accordingly. The matter will be examined and dealt as per law.
He said that Capt. Rifat Hayee had earlier filed a similarcase in Lahore High Court which was disposed off with the direction to act strictly in accordance with the Rules and Law. Subsequently, the PIA Women Protection Committee called Captain Riffat Hayee to explain her grievance for further proceedings but Capt Riffat Hayee refused to appear before the said committee.
PIA takes all complaints very seriously and anyone found guilty is dealt with seriously according to the rules and regulations are per law. Media is requested to treat such news with extreme caution as it defames not only the complainant who is a respectable lady but also the airline. PIA spokesman concluded.
