Islamabad, March 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that economic position of Pakistan has improved as compared to the last year. We have taken concrete measures to bring back the economy on strong footings, he said this while talking to a group of Parliamentarians from Gujranwala Division who called on him today.
Engineer Khurram Dastagir Khan, Minister for Commerce, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Defence, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Mr. Zahid Hamid, Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Usman Ibrahim, Minister of State for Housing and Works, Mrs Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Services, Shiekh Aftab, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Captain (retd) Safdar MNA and Mr. Hamza Shahbaz MNA and other Senators and MNAs attended the meeting.
Addressing the Parliamentarians, PM said that the through pragmatic approach and rationale policies government has been able to provide relief to masses in power sector.
PM said that the foreign investment in Pakistan is rising due to the confidence reposed by the International donors in the economy of Pakistan. Chinese investment in the power and infrastructure sectors will further boost our economy, PM added.
The PM told that Youth Business loan Scheme has been launched successfully. He said this was promise of our election campaign and we have proved that we keep our promises. Referring to the issue of terrorism, he said that we have chosen the path of dialogue according to the decision taken in All Parties Conference (APC) and expressed hope that the dialogue will bear fruit.
The Parliamentarians showed confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and said that the steps being taken by him would put the country on road to progress. They also discussed political matters and development projects relating to their constituencies.
