Karachi: Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has said that the ongoing cleanliness drive brought positive result in the city and improved the overall sanitation conditions. Now we need to not only maintain this standard but also try to make it even better.
He expressed these views while talking to media representatives at Clifton after visiting 6 towns on Friday.
Provincial Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Administrator Karachi Mohammad Hussain Syed, DCO Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh, M.D KWSB Misbahuddin Farid, EDOs and other officers of city government were present on this occasion.
Earlier Governor Sindh along with the Minister for Local Government paid a detailed visit of Shah Faisal Town, Korangi, Landhi, Bin Qasim, Gadap and Malir Town where he checked the cleanliness conditions and also inspected development projects.
Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan also inspected the storm water drain being laid at the Clifton Do Talwar and directed to complete this project as soon as possible.
Talking to media representatives, Governor Sindh said in whatever towns we visited, we found the conditions much better. The town administration with elected representatives, MPAs and staff of city district government Karachi worked together that has not only improved the cleanliness conditions in these areas but also bring acceleration in the pace of work on development projects.
Replying a question he said the issue of local government elections would be solved through consensus, however the actual thing is serving the people and solving their problems and the concerned organizations were plying positive role in this regard.
