Karachi: Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah discussed the law and order situation and flood-relief measures in the province.
According to a spokesman of Governor House, the Chief Minister called on the Governor at Governor House and discussed in detail the prevailing situation in the province.
Both were of the opinion that the rains followed by floods caused heavy damages to the life, property, infrastructure and agriculture sector which require short and long term measures to meet the challenges of natural disaster.
They said that the provincial government was taking all out measures in collaboration with the National and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities and the private sector to provide maximum relief to the flood affectees.
Moreover, rehabilitation work will also be initiated simultaneously, they hoped.
About the law and order issue, the Governor and Chief Minister expressed their determination to take action against outlaws, drug mafia and extortionists without any discrimination.
It further stated that strict actions to be taken against the elements which are involved in anti-state and criminal activities and ruining the peace of Karachiites.
