Karachi, August 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has appreciated the services of the Ismaili community for Pakistan under guidance of their spiritual leader Prince Karim Aga Khan. He noted that since the days of Pakistan Movement the Ismaili community has been playing a prominent role in serving the humanity in Pakistan by their welfare activities without any discrimination of colour, caste, creed or religion.
The community has established a unique position in health and education sectors. The community has set up various welfare organisations in various cities/ towns and their surroundings in Pakistan which are working round-the-clock, he said.
The Governor was talking to a two-member delegation of Aga Khan Community—Community’s President (Pakistan chapter) Iqbal Waljee and Director, Aga Khan Funds for Economics Development, Sultan Ali Allana, here at the Governor House. He said the recent terrorist acts against the Ismaili community have caused a serious concern for the entire nation.
All sections of the society in Pakistan have condemned the terrorists incidents. Dr Ebad said the country was faced with many challenges and the Government was doing the best possible with its limited resources to cope with challenges. He said the issues of security need to be immediately resolved to remove the sense of insecurity among the people.
