Government has spent huge amount on maintenance of minorities worship places: Chawla

Karachi, December 11, 2012 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that minorities are the essential part of Pakistan. Present democratic government has spent a huge amount on renovation, repair and maintenance of minorities worship places and on-going development schemes in this regards are being completed at the earliest.

This he said while talking to a delegation of Minorities at his camp office on Tuesday. He said that it was the duty of the government to protect the worship places of minorities. According to Constitution of Pakistan minorities had got full freedom to follow their religions and rituals.

President Asif Ali Zardari has constituted a 15 member committee to resolve the issues of the minorities and it would submit its recommendations in this regards soon. Mukesh Kumar Chawla added ‘ Hindus living in Sindh are playing their due role in the development of the province shoulder to shoulder with its majority.

Pakistan Peoples Party has democratic approach and its doors are open for all irrespective of caste, creed, colour and religion. He said Sindh is the land of peace and those who want to spread evil on the land will die their own death. People will never forgive the conspirators against democracy and the country. These anti state elements will get worst defeat in the country.
