Government has constituted body to present report on Foreign Missions abroad

Islamabad, August 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has constituted a sub-committee with Mr. Tariq Fatimi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister as its Convener and Secretaries Establishment and Finance as its members to review the Performance of different officers posted in Pakistan’s Missions abroad.

This decision was taken during the meeting held under the chairmanship of Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar which met at the Finance Minister’s office afternoon.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Mr. Khurram Dastagir, Federal Minister for Privatization, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Mr. Tariq Fatimi, senior officials of Cabinet Affairs Division, Defence, Information Broadcasting and Heritage, Overseas Pakistanis, Commerce and other senior officials.

The sub-committee has been directed to submit its report within three weeks. The Cabinet Division shall function as the secretariat of sub-committee.

It may be recalled that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had issued a directive to review the performance of Pakistan’s Missions abroad on July 18 and submit a report to him regarding justifications of positions in foreign mission.

The Cabinet Secretary Mr. Sami Saeed informed the committee that 14 Ministries/Divisions have responded to the proforma circulated by the Cabinet Division for obtaining information as per terms of reference.
