Islamabad, April 30, 2014 (PPI-OT): Government should take urgent notice of the problems being faced by the parents in getting their children admitted to federal public schools as they are finding it very hard to find a place for their kids in federal schools these days. This was said by Khalid Chaudhry, Senior Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Secretary Information, Traders Action Committee, Islamabad while talking to a delegation of various markets.
He said Islamabad is a model city and schools established in the federal capital are also considered model schools, but parents are running from pillar to post to get admission for their children and government should intervene to ease their woes. He said Ministry of Capital Administration and Development has ended evening shifts in schools due to which admission problems have increased manifold. He said bureaucracy have adopted such an approach as is tarnishing the image of the government.
He said claim of providing free education is proving just an eyewash as books have not been provided in schools as yet and parents are forced to purchase books from open market. He said school buses have either gone out of order or are short of funds to purchase diesel due to which parents are compelled to spend thousands of rupees to arrange private conveyance for their kids.
Khalid Chaudhry said Asad Umar being MNA from Islamabad should use his influence to ease admission problems of parents. He said due to problems in getting admission in public schools, parents are being forced to enrol their kids in private schools and stressed that government should take urgent notice of this situation to save parents from further trouble on this account, otherwise, citizens will be forced to launch a strong protest against this situation.
