Srinagar, February 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has paid glowing tributes to advocate Muhi-ud-Din Regoo on his martyrdom anniversary.
Syed Ali Gilani, who is in New Delhi, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian Army officers, Colonel Bawa and Major Poniya along with a police officer had killed advocate Muhi-ud-Din Regoo in custody in February 1998. He said that Regoo’s murder case was closed under a conspiracy and the involved people were given a safe exit by the puppet administration. He demanded reopening of the case to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The veteran leader said that there were hundreds of such cases of extra-judicial killings of innocent Kashmiris. However, he deplored that not a single trooper or policeman involved in these cases was punished.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Tehreek-e-Khawateen Kashmir, Zamruda Habib, in a statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to advocate Muhi-ud-Din Regoo on his first martyrdom anniversary. She said that Indian troops had tortured him to death after dragging him out from his house.
