Srinagar, February 05, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, have expressed gratitude to the people and Government of Pakistan for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day saying that Pakistan backs the Kashmiris just struggle in securing their right to self-determination.
Syed Ali Gilani in his message thanked the National Assembly of Pakistan for unanimously passing a resolution, supporting the Kashmiris’ freedom movement. The veteran leader appealed to the Imams and religious scholars of Kashmir to offer special prayers after Juma sermons, tomorrow, for peace, stability and progress in Pakistan and than the government and the people of the country for extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement termed Pakistan’s unflinching support for the Kashmir cause on moral, political and diplomatic levels as historic saying that Islamabad played an important role in raising the Kashmir dispute at international forums like the United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The Mirwaiz said that the passing of a resolution by Pakistan parliament favouring Kashmiris’ right to self-determination reflected Islamabad’s longstanding stand on Kashmir dispute. He said that Hurriyet was in favour of friendly relations between Pakistan and India on equality basis for finding out a reasonable solution to the Kashmir dispute through talks between the two countries.
He advocated participations of true representatives of the Kashmiri people in any talks between Islamabad and New Delhi on Kashmir.
