Srinagar, April 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronized by veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, strongly reacting to the statement of pro-India National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah regarding Mohammad Afzal Guru’s hanging, has said that the sacrifices of thousands of Kashmiri martyrs including Guru will always remain a source of inspiration for the Kashmiris.
A spokesman for the forum in a statement issued in Srinagar termed Farooq Abdullah’ assertion as opportunistic and politically dishonest statement.
“In pursuit for power, the National Conference is asking Kashmiris to forget their martyrs and remain silent over raids being conducted by police and paramilitary forces on their houses,” he added.
“By keeping mum over such happenings in the territory, the pro-India party has entrusted itself at its free will to the slavery of India and is also asking the masses to be insensitive towards this collective menace,” the spokesman said.
He maintained that the Kashmiris would never forgive those who had enforced draconian laws including PSA, AFSPA and POTA to suppress pro-freedom leaders and activists in the territory.
Farooq Abdullah on Sunday expressing happiness over Chief Justice of India ‘s remark that the families of death row convicts should be informed in advance about their execution said that discussing the Muhammad Afzal Guru’s hanging over and over would “only lead to pain”.
“Whatever has happened has happened, if we will time and again beat around it, we won’t be able to heal the hearts of people. It will only lead to more pain.
