Srinagar, February 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has condemned arrest of the leaders of his party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir (TeH) by Indian police.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the arrest of TeH Presidents for Doda Kishtwar, Malik Noor Fayaz, and Poonch Rajouri, Qazi Asghar, by the police as unjustified. He said that the puppet administration was subjecting Tehreek-e-Hurriyet to political vengeance and was not providing any political space to it.
Syed Ali Gilani deplored that the occupation authorities were hell bent upon to disturb the political activities of the organization and wanted to crush it with iron hands. He said that Tehreek-e-Hurriyet had a clear-cut stand on the Kashmir dispute that the Kashmiris would not accept anything less than freedom from India.
“The members and workers of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet are slapped with PSA one after another only to stop them from reaching the public,” he said. The veteran leader pointed out that the District President of Doda Kishtwar and Poonch Rajouri had also been detained under the same policy.
The veteran leader demanding their immediate release warned the puppet administration against the restrictions on political activities of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet. He advised New Delhi and the puppet regime to face the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet on political platform.
Syed Ali Gilani maintained that the organization had a clear policy with regard to the holding of farcical polls in the occupied territory and the participation of people in the elections was detrimental for the freedom movement and India wanted to cash it in every possible way.
