Karachi: Development of a National Qualification Framework (NQF) for technical vocational education training (TVET) institutes in Pakistan is an objective of GIZ TVET Reform Support Programme.GIZ will train more than 10,000 teacher said by Mr. Klaus-D. Berghoiz, Team Leader, HRD, Component 2 TVET Reform Support Programme. The two member team of Deutsche Gesellschaft fur International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH visited FPCCI on February 8, 2012.
Mr. Khurram Saeed, Chairman, FPCCI Standing Committee on Alternative Energy Development welcomed the delegation of GIZ. He gave brief introduction of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
He told that FPCCI has been organizing skill development training workshops and seminars. FPCCI is a very useful platform for imparting knowledge based training. In the past FPCCI with the collaboration of international institutes has conducted capacity building program for various sectors.
Mr. Klaus-D. Berghoiz, Team Leader, HRD, Component 2 TVET Reform Support Programme, informed that GIZ promote technical and vocational education and training that is responsive to the job market and is jointly designed by the state, the business sector and civil society. Their advisory approach focuses on processes and implementation.
Policy advice is frequently linked to the development of qualification frameworks that underpin the quality management of TVET via standards and the certification and accreditation of training institutions. He also told that FPCCI should be placed at policy setting in NQF, functional level for curriculum development, involve at planning part.
Meeting was also attended by Mr. Zafar Iqbal, National Deputy-HRD, Component TVET Reform Support Programme.
