Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz has said that friendly country China has extended all possible support and assistance for the helpless, orphans and disabled children of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would continue its full cooperation in future as well.
She expressed these views while talking to media representatives on the eve of handing over the cheque from Chinese Ambassador for orphans and helpless children at Darul Atfal Peshawar on Friday.
Chairperson (APWA) Nighat Bashir Bilour, Deputy Chief Child Protection and Welfare Commission, Ejaz Ahmad and Incharge Darul Atfal Peshawar, Miss Yasmin were also present on the occasion.
The Provincial Minister said that poor and helpless children were part and parcel of our society and their look after and care was our collective responsibility. She said that the provincial government was taking solid and comprehensive steps for provision of rights of all the needy and deserving ones according to its resources. However, she appealed to the philanthropists to come forward and help the needy and helpless people with open heart.
Earlier the Provincial Minister handed-over the cheque from Chinese Ambassador to the chairperson APWA for the helpless and orphan children of the province. On this occasion, the Provincial Minister also distributed clothes, blankets and shoes among the children on behalf of child protection and welfare commission. Provincial Minister also inspected Darul Atfal in detail and got awareness about the facilities being provided to the children there.
