Islamabad, November 27, 2012 (PPI-OT): Foreign Secretary, Jalil Abbas Jilani held a meeting with Kazuya Shimba, Parliamentary Senior Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan here today, says a press release received from Tokyo.
The Secretary expressed satisfaction over the 7th round of Pakistan-Japan annual political consultations held yesterday. He said that the talks were very fruitful and constructive as they covered all aspects of bilateral relations including political, economic, defence, cultural, health and education. Views were also exchanged on regional issues of South Asia and South-East Asia.
The Secretary also thanked the people and the government of Japan for the additional assistance of US$4.7 million to alleviate the sufferings the victims of September 2012 floods.
Kazuya Shimba, the Vice Minister informed the Secretary that Japan had approved an assistance of ¥2.8 billion for improving the medium wave signal of Radio Pakistan and a children hospital in Karachi.
